Over A Century Strong: Celebrating 125 Years
On September 13, colleagues, clients and community gathered at the Log Cabin in Holyoke to celebrate our 125th anniversary in grand style. It was a wonderful event that showcased the very real connection we’ve built with our community over the decades. Together, we celebrated not only our history, but the promise of all that is to come.
In 1898, James J. Dowd III founded the Dowd Insurance Agency and started a legacy that now spans five generations. After 125 years of service to the community, Dowd is the oldest insurance agency in Massachusetts under continuous family ownership—a heritage of which we are very proud.
This video includes testimonials from our founder’s great-grandsons Jim Dowd and John Dowd (the company’s current president), John’s sons Jack and Evan, and other key players and stewards of our ongoing legacy. It’s a story we are honored to share with you, our customers and neighbors, whom we have striven to serve from the day we were founded well over a century ago.
